How to Use This Glossary
Terms are organized alphabetically. Use your browser's find function (Ctrl+F or Cmd+F) to jump to a specific term. Where a term relates to a specific feature, a link to the relevant Knowledge Base article is included.
A
AI Analysis
The process of submitting data to clariBI's AI engine for automated interpretation. An AI analysis reads your data, identifies patterns, and produces written findings, charts, and recommendations. Each analysis consumes one or more AI credits.
AI Credits
The currency that controls how many AI-powered actions you can perform per billing cycle. Credits are consumed when you run analyses, generate reports, or ask questions in conversational analytics. Credit allowances vary by plan: Trial (50), Starter (500), Professional (1,500), Enterprise (5,000). Credits reset monthly and do not roll over.
Administrator
One of five built-in roles in the RBAC system. Administrators have 29 permissions, including user management, data source configuration, and report management. They cannot modify billing or transfer organization ownership. See also: Owner, Analyst, Member, Viewer.
AI Engine
The artificial intelligence system that powers clariBI's analysis, report generation, and conversational analytics features.
Analyst
A built-in RBAC role with 14 permissions focused on analytics and reporting. Analysts can run analyses, create reports, and build dashboards but cannot manage users or billing.
Anomaly Detection (Planned)
A planned AI feature that will identify data points that deviate significantly from expected patterns. This feature is not yet available in the current version of clariBI.

Audit Log
A chronological record of all significant actions taken within an organization. Includes who performed the action, what was changed, and when. Available on Professional and Enterprise plans.
Authentication Token
A secure token issued after login that verifies your identity with each request. Tokens expire after a configurable period and are refreshed automatically during active sessions.
B
Billing Cycle
The recurring period (monthly or annual) during which your subscription is active. AI credits, usage limits, and invoices reset at the start of each billing cycle.
Breadcrumb
The navigational trail at the top of each page showing your current location in the app hierarchy (e.g., Home > Dashboards > Q4 Sales Overview).
C
Confidence Score
A percentage displayed alongside AI-recommended charts indicating how well the chart type fits the underlying data. A score of 90% or higher means the chart is a strong match. Below 70%, consider an alternative visualization.
Conversational Analytics
The chat-based interface where you ask questions about your data in plain English. clariBI interprets the question, queries your connected data sources, and returns answers with explanations and visualizations. Each question consumes one AI credit. See Conversational Analytics: Your First Question.
CSV
Comma-Separated Values -- a plain-text file format for tabular data. clariBI can ingest CSV files as a data source. See Uploading CSV, Excel, and PDF Files.
Custom Role
A user-defined RBAC role with a specific set of permissions chosen by an Administrator or Owner. Available on Professional and Enterprise plans.
D
Dashboard
A visual collection of widgets displaying charts, metrics, and tables from your data. Dashboards can be created, shared, and embedded. See Creating a Dashboard Step by Step.
Data Source
Any external system connected to clariBI that provides data for analysis. Supported types include databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), files (CSV, Excel, PDF), cloud services (Google Analytics, Google Sheets, Jira, Confluence, Meta Ads), and REST APIs.
Data Sync
The process of pulling current data from a connected data source into clariBI. Syncs can be manual (triggered by clicking Sync Now) or automatic (on a configured schedule).
E
Executive Summary

Export
The action of downloading a dashboard, report, or analysis result in a file format such as PDF, Excel, or CSV. See Export Formats.
F
Featured Article
A Knowledge Base article marked as particularly important or frequently referenced. Featured articles appear prominently on the Knowledge Base home page.
File Upload
A data source type that accepts CSV, Excel (.xlsx), and PDF files uploaded directly through the browser. See Uploading CSV, Excel, and PDF Files.
G
Goal
A trackable business objective with a target value and deadline. Goals can be linked to data sources so clariBI monitors progress automatically. See the Goals section in the sidebar.
H
Home Dashboard
The default landing page after login. Displays key stats, recent activity, AI insights, data source health, and quick action shortcuts. See Understanding the Home Dashboard.
I
Integration
A connection between clariBI and a third-party service. Integrations can be data sources (pulling data in) or action targets (pushing notifications or reports out).
K

This collection of help articles, guides, and references. Accessible from the sidebar under Help or at claribi.com/knowledge-base.
L
Layout
The arrangement of widgets on a dashboard. Widgets can be dragged, dropped, and resized on a grid. See Dashboard Layout.
