3 min read Updated February 11, 2026
Learn how to export your CRM reports, lead lists, and opportunity data from Salesforce as CSV files and import them into clariBI for AI-powered sales analysis.

Salesforce is the world's most widely used CRM platform. By exporting your Salesforce data into clariBI, you can use AI to analyze your sales pipeline, understand win/loss patterns, track lead conversion rates, and uncover insights about your customer relationships.

What You Can Export from Salesforce

  • Opportunity and deal pipeline data
  • Lead and contact lists
  • Account (company) records
  • Sales reports and forecasts
  • Campaign performance data
  • Activity and task history
  • Custom report data
  • Case and support ticket records

Export CSV Data from Salesforce

Method 1: Export Reports

  1. Log in to your Salesforce account at login.salesforce.com
  2. Click the Reports tab in the top navigation bar (or find it in the App Launcher by clicking the grid icon)
  3. Find and click on an existing report, or create a new one by clicking New Report
  4. If creating a new report, select a report type (e.g., "Opportunities", "Leads", or "Accounts"), configure your filters, and click Run
  5. Once the report is displayed, click the Export button (a downward arrow icon) near the top-right of the report
  6. In the export dialog, select Details Only as the export view — then select Comma Delimited .csv as the format (note: the CSV format option is only available when you choose "Details Only"; the "Formatted Report" option exports as .xlsx only)
  7. Click Export
  8. The CSV file will download to your computer

Method 2: Export List View Data via Reports

  1. Navigate to the object tab you want to export (e.g., Leads, Contacts, Opportunities, or Accounts)
  2. Open the list view you want (e.g., "All Open Leads" or "My Opportunities")
  3. Note that Salesforce Lightning Experience does not have a direct export option on list views — instead, click the gear icon to the right of the list view name and select New Report, or go to the Reports tab and create a new report matching your list view criteria
  4. Once the report is created and displays the data you need, export it as CSV using the Method 1 steps above

Method 3: Data Export Service (Bulk Export)

  1. Click the gear icon in the top-right corner and select Setup
  2. In the Quick Find search box, type "Data Export"
  3. Click Data Export under the Data section
  4. Click Export Now (or Schedule Export for recurring exports)
  5. Select the objects you want to include in the export
  6. Click Start Export — Salesforce will prepare the files and email you when they are ready
  7. Return to the Data Export page to download the CSV files once they are generated

Tips for Clean Exports

  • Salesforce reports give you the most control over which fields and filters are included — build a custom report tailored to your analysis needs before exporting
  • The Data Export Service is best for large datasets or complete backups, while Reports and List Views are better for targeted exports
  • Make sure your report does not have row-level grouping that hides detail rows — click "Show Details" before exporting to include all individual records

Import Your Data into clariBI

Once imported, you can ask clariBI questions like:

clariBI's AI will automatically analyze your data and suggest relevant insights.
