clariBI Free is the entry-level no-cost tier. It's the home base for people who want to keep their auto-generated dashboards accessible long after a trial ends, plus for new users who want to evaluate clariBI without committing to a trial period.
What Free includes
- 3 data sources — any mix of OAuth integrations, file uploads, or database connections.
- 1 GB of storage — uploaded files plus cached metadata.
- 1 user — Free is a single-seat plan.
- Auto-generated data insight dashboards — every connected source gets a "[Source] - Data Insights" dashboard via clariBI's preprocessing pipeline. Pre-computed visualizations stay viewable.
- Read access to your data — view dashboards, browse data, export results.
- 5 file uploads per month — for CSV / Excel / PDF imports.
What Free excludes
- No AI credits. Free can't run Conversational Analytics, AI-generated reports, or any LLM-powered feature.
- No MCP catalog. The 30+ Model Context Protocol integrations require Starter or higher.
- No manual dashboard builder. Free shows the pre-computed insight dashboards generated automatically when you connect a source; building custom dashboards from scratch requires Lite or higher.
- No team features. Workspaces, comments, real-time collaboration require multi-user tiers.
Free vs. Trial vs. Expired
These three states are easy to confuse. The difference:
- Trial: 14 days, 50 AI credits, 3 data sources, full feature access. Designed for evaluation.
- Free: indefinite, 0 AI credits, 3 data sources, dashboard-viewer access. Designed as a long-term low-touch home for users who aren't ready to pay.
- Expired: legacy post-trial state. Read-only. You can still see data insights but can't add sources or upload files. If you signed up after the Free tier launched (mid-2026), you'll land on Free, not Expired.
If your trial ends, you'll be moved to Free automatically — not deactivated. Your existing data insights remain accessible. You just can't run new AI analyses until you upgrade.
Who Free is for
- Post-trial users who want to keep their dashboards around indefinitely.
- Hobbyists or students exploring BI tooling.
- Decision-makers running comparison shopping who need a no-commitment look.
- Teams in long evaluation cycles who pause and resume.
When to upgrade
The most common move is Free → Starter, triggered by any of:
- You want to ask plain-English questions about your data.
- You want to connect Stripe, HubSpot, Linear, or any other MCP-catalog vendor.
- You hit the 3-source limit.
- You want to build custom dashboards instead of the auto-generated ones.
You can upgrade any time from Settings → Billing. The migration is instant — your existing connections and dashboards carry over.
