1 min read Updated June 09, 2026
Connect the U.S. Energy Information Administration to clariBI with your API key to sync energy price series (crude oil, natural gas, fuels) for the series you choose, read-only, with auto-generated dashboards next to your business data.
## Connect the U.S. EIA to clariBI The EIA connector syncs the price history of the energy series you choose, read-only, and builds an insights dashboard next to your other data. ### What you need - A free EIA API key from [eia.gov/opendata](https://www.eia.gov/opendata/register.php). - The series IDs you want (for example RWTC for WTI crude spot). You can browse series in the [EIA API browser](https://www.eia.gov/opendata/browser/). ### Steps 1. In clariBI, open **Data Sources** then **Add Data Source** and find the U.S. EIA. 2. Paste your EIA API key. It is Fernet-encrypted at rest. 3. Enter the series IDs to track, set the frequency, and choose how much history to pull. 4. clariBI syncs the prices, preprocesses them, and builds a dashboard you can query and pull into reports. ### What gets synced For each series: the period and price (plus the series description and units). The connector reads only and never changes anything.
