Permission Layers

  1. Organization Level: Member of org
  2. Role Level: Role permissions

Diagnosing Permission Issues

Check Your Role

  1. Click your avatar
  2. Go to Profile
  3. View assigned role
  4. Check role permissions

Verify Resource Access

  1. Ask owner who has access
  2. Check workspace membership
  3. Verify sharing settings

Common Issues and Fixes

"Access Denied" on Dashboard

Causes:
- Not shared with you
- Not in workspace
- Role lacks view permission

Solutions:
1. Request access from owner
2. Ask to be added to workspace
3. Contact admin about role change

"Feature Not Available"

Causes:
- Feature requires higher tier
- Feature not enabled for role

Solutions:
1. Check feature availability by tier
2. Request upgrade if needed
3. Contact admin about role permissions

"Cannot Edit"

Causes:
- View-only access
- Resource is locked
- Role lacks edit permission

"Cannot Delete"

Granting Access

Dashboard/Report Access:
1. Open resource
2. Click Share
3. Add user/group
4. Set permission level

Workspace Access:
1. Open workspace settings
2. Add member
3. Set role in workspace

Role Assignment:
1. Go to Team settings
2. Find user
3. Change role

Troubleshooting User Access

Check User Status:
- Active vs disabled
- Invitation accepted
- Correct organization

2. Search by user
