Fixer + clariBI

Connect Fixer with your access key, choose the currencies to track, and get daily exchange rates sitting next to the revenue and costs they move with.

Native Fixer data-source connector.

Paste your Fixer access key, pick the currencies to track, and clariBI syncs their daily exchange-rate history into preprocessed datasets and auto-generated dashboards, right next to your other tools.

What is Fixer?

Fixer is a foreign-exchange-rates API that publishes daily reference rates for more than 170 currencies, relative to a base currency.

clariBI reads Fixer through its REST API using your own access key: the daily rate for each currency you choose, against the euro base. Access is read-only, and clariBI never changes anything in your account.

For each day in your chosen window, clariBI requests that day from the historical endpoint and records the rate, building a daily time series per currency.

Connect Fixer in three steps

1

Open Data Sources in clariBI

In clariBI, go to Data SourcesAdd Data Source, find Fixer, and paste your access key (free from fixer.io). The access key is Fernet-encrypted at rest.

2

Choose currencies and history

Type the target currencies to track (for example USD, GBP, JPY) and choose how many days of history to pull. clariBI reads rates read-only.

3

Sync, then get dashboards

clariBI syncs the daily rates, preprocesses them, and builds an insights dashboard. Ask "How did the dollar move against the euro this quarter?" and the AI engine queries the synced rates alongside your revenue and costs.

What you can analyze

Out of the box with the Fixer connector:

  • Daily exchange rate per currency against the euro
  • Rate trend and volatility over your chosen window
  • Relative moves across the currencies you track
  • Period-over-period change in a single currency
  • Currency exposure lined up with billing dates
  • Cross-source: FX moves → foreign revenue → reported margin

Fixer is one of many data sources you can connect to clariBI. See the full list →

What gets synced

clariBI pulls daily exchange-rate history for the currencies you select through the Fixer REST API, lands it as a preprocessed dataset, and refreshes it on your schedule. Access is read-only.

For each selected currency, clariBI syncs the daily rate against the euro base, then builds an insights dashboard you can query, extend, or pull into reports.

clariBI only ever reads. It never changes anything in your Fixer account.

Cross-source questions Fixer makes possible

Fixer data is most useful next to your other tools. clariBI's planner composes it with your CRM, billing, and product data through the same entity-join primitives that back every cross-source analysis.

Fixer × Revenue

"How much of our revenue swing was currency, not volume?"

Planner: read daily FX rates from Fixer, align to foreign revenue by date, and split the change into rate versus volume.

Fixer × Costs

"Did the exchange-rate move raise our supplier costs this month?"

Planner: read the rate for the supplier currency, join to purchase costs by date, and report the FX-driven cost delta.

Fixer connector FAQ

What do I need to connect Fixer?

A free access key from fixer.io. You paste it into clariBI once; it is Fernet-encrypted at rest, and there is no OAuth popup or app to register.

Can clariBI change anything in my account?

No. The connector only reads daily exchange-rate history for the currencies you select. It never changes anything in your account.

Which base currency does clariBI use?

The euro. The Fixer free plan publishes rates relative to the euro, so each synced rate is the value of one euro in the currency you chose.

Which clariBI plan includes the Fixer connector?

Data-source connectors are available on the Trial, Starter, Professional, and Enterprise plans. You can connect Fixer during the free 14-day trial.
