How Templates Work

A template defines the layout, widget types, chart configurations, and metric definitions for a specific use case. When you create a dashboard from a template, you go through the Dashboard Builder wizard:

  1. Data Sources — select the data sources for your dashboard
  2. Business Domain — confirm or adjust the industry/niche
  3. Define Metrics — the template pre-selects relevant metrics, which you can customize
  4. Design Layout — the template provides a starting layout that you can rearrange
  5. Deploy — name your dashboard and launch it

Template Categories

Templates are organized into categories based on business function:

  • Sales & Revenue — pipeline tracking, revenue by product, sales team performance
  • Marketing — campaign performance, lead generation, channel comparison, ROI
  • Finance — P&L overview, cash flow, budget vs. actual, expense breakdown
  • Operations — inventory levels, supply chain, production metrics
  • Customer Success — churn analysis, satisfaction scores, support ticket metrics
  • HR & People — headcount, hiring pipeline, employee engagement
  • Product — feature usage, activation funnel, retention cohorts
  • E-Commerce — conversion rates, cart abandonment, product performance
  • Executive — company-level KPI overviews for leadership

Using a Template

Go to Dashboards and switch to the Templates tab, or browse the Template Marketplace

Browse by category using the filter dropdown, or search by keyword

Click a template card to start creating a dashboard from it. This opens the Dashboard Builder wizard with the template's metrics and layout pre-filled.

Walk through the 5-step wizard: select data sources, confirm domain, customize metrics, adjust layout, and deploy

After applying, the dashboard is fully editable. You can add, remove, or modify any widget. The template is just a starting point.

Pro Tip

Templates also appear in the Template Marketplace, which includes both dashboard and report templates with detailed descriptions and previews.
