clariBI vs. Amplitude: An Honest Comparison
Amplitude is product analytics: instrument events in your app, track behavior, build cohorts. clariBI is business analytics: connect revenue, marketing, CRM, and operational data, ask questions across all of it. Different problems, often used together.

The short version
| Pick Amplitude if | you have a digital product, instrument user events, run funnel and retention analysis on behavior, and your primary user is product or growth. |
| Pick clariBI if | your need is the business view (revenue, marketing, CRM, finance) and the operators using it are founders, ops, or non-product roles. |
| Pick both | very common. Amplitude for product behavior, clariBI for business and cross-source analysis. The two surfaces do not overlap as much as the marketing implies. |
The teams who pick clariBI alongside Amplitude: SaaS teams who already have product events in Amplitude and need the business view (MRR, CAC, ad ROI) somewhere else.

Forecasting head to head
Amplitude's forecasting comes through Predictive Cohorts (experimental at the time of writing): the platform uses your event data to predict which users are likely to convert, churn, or take an action. Useful for product teams targeting behavior.
clariBI's forecasting works on time-series business metrics: where will MRR be next month, where is CAC heading, what are the correlated drivers behind churn rate. Nine methods scored by walk-forward backtest, FDR-controlled driver discovery, anomaly and changepoint detection.
If your question is "which users will churn," Amplitude is the right tool. If your question is "where will churn rate be next month and what is moving it," clariBI is the right tool. Different shapes of forecasting.
When Amplitude is the better pick
You have a digital product to instrument. Amplitude is the canonical product-analytics tool. The event SDKs are mature, the funnel and retention features are deep, and the product is built for this job.
Behavioral cohorts are your unit of analysis. Users who did X within Y days; sessions that hit feature Z. Amplitude's cohort builder is unmatched at the depth product teams need.
You have a product analyst or growth team. Amplitude rewards a dedicated analyst who builds funnels, runs experiments, and reads behavior. Without that role, the deeper features go unused.
Predictive cohort modeling matters. Per-user prediction of conversion or churn from event history. clariBI does not do per-user prediction.
When clariBI is the better pick
Your question is about business, not behavior. MRR, CAC, ad ROI, lead conversion. These are business metrics across sources outside the product itself. Amplitude does not see your Stripe data the way clariBI does.
You need cross-source questions answered. "What is our CAC by channel this month?" needs ad-spend, conversion, and revenue data together. clariBI reads from all three. Amplitude reads from instrumented events.
Nobody on the team is a product analyst. Amplitude's depth requires a dedicated user. clariBI's conversational analytics is built for founders, marketers, and ops.
Forecasting business metrics matters. Time-series forecasting on MRR or churn rate is clariBI's product. Amplitude's predictive cohorts predict per-user behavior, which is different.
You want one tool for the business view. Amplitude is product. If you also need finance, CRM, ad, and operational data in one place, clariBI is the broader tool.
Pricing, side by side
Amplitude's Starter tier is free up to 10M events per month, which covers many small SaaS apps. Growth and Enterprise are sales-led. clariBI's $99 a month Starter is the BI side, not the event-tracking side.

FAQ
Is clariBI an Amplitude replacement?
Only for the business-analytics half of what Amplitude is sometimes used for. The product-event-tracking half is what Amplitude is for, and clariBI is not a replacement there.
Can clariBI track product events?
clariBI reads from PostHog, Mixpanel, and Amplitude via the MCP catalog, so you can query event data clariBI is reading from your event tool. clariBI itself is not an event SDK.
Why are these tools often used together?
Product team uses Amplitude for behavior. Business and growth teams use clariBI for revenue, ad ROI, and cross-source questions. Most SaaS companies have both above some scale.
Does Amplitude do forecasting?
Predictive cohorts predict per-user behavior (will user X convert). clariBI forecasts metric-level series (where will conversion rate be next month). Different shapes.
What about retention curves?
Amplitude's retention curves on product behavior are best in category. clariBI's retention is computed from billing data (subscription retention), not event data. Different sources.
