What is Visual Crossing?
Visual Crossing is a weather-data provider whose Timeline API serves historical, current, and forecast weather for any location worldwide through one consistent REST endpoint.
clariBI reads Visual Crossing through its Timeline API using your own API key: daily high and low temperature, average temperature, precipitation, and humidity for the locations you choose. You type a place name or coordinates, and the connector reads the daily series read-only. The key is Fernet-encrypted at rest.
How to connect Visual Crossing
- Open Data Sources in clariBI. In clariBI, go to Data Sources → Add Data Source, find Visual Crossing, and paste your Visual Crossing API key (free from visualcrossing.com). The key is Fernet-encrypted at rest.
- Type locations and history. Type the places to track as a name (for example London,UK) or as "lat,lon", then choose how much history to pull. clariBI reads the daily weather series read-only.
- Sync, then get dashboards. clariBI syncs the daily weather, preprocesses it, and builds an insights dashboard. Ask "Did the cold week dent foot traffic?" and the AI engine queries the synced weather alongside your sales.
