How to Export CSV Data from Stripe and Import It into clariBI

Stripe is the leading online payment processing platform used by businesses of all sizes. By exporting your Stripe data into clariBI, you can use AI to analyze payment trends, track revenue growth, understand refund patterns, and gain deep insights into your transaction data.

Export CSV Data from Stripe

Method 1: Export Payments

  1. Log in to your Stripe Dashboard at dashboard.stripe.com
  2. Click Payments in the left-hand sidebar
  3. You will see a list of all your payment transactions
  4. Use the date range filter and status filters at the top to narrow down the results
  5. Click the Export button in the top-right area of the payments list
  6. In the export dialog, select the columns you want to include
  7. Choose your date range if you have not already filtered it
  8. Click Export to download the CSV file

Method 2: Export Balance and Payouts

  1. From the left sidebar, click Balance (under the "Finance" section) or click Payouts
  2. Set the date range for the period you want to analyze
  3. Click the Export button near the top-right of the list
  4. Select the desired columns and date range
  5. Click Export to download the CSV

Method 3: Export Financial Reports

  1. Navigate to Reports in the left sidebar (under "Finance")
  2. Select the type of report you need (e.g., "Balance summary", "Payout reconciliation")
  3. Choose your reporting period
  4. Click Download and select CSV as the format
  5. The report will download to your computer

Method 4: Export Customer Data

  1. Click Customers in the left sidebar
  2. Apply any filters you need (date created, subscription status, etc.)
  3. Click the Export button at the top-right of the customer list
  4. Select the fields you want included
  5. Click Export to download the CSV

Tips for Clean Exports

  • Stripe exports include very detailed data — if you only need a high-level view, reduce the number of columns during the export step
  • Stripe amounts are typically in the smallest currency unit (e.g., cents for USD). clariBI will handle this, but keep it in mind when reading raw data
  • For subscription businesses, export both Payments and Subscriptions data to get a complete picture of recurring revenue

Import Your Data into clariBI

  1. Log in to your clariBI account at claribi.com
  2. Click Data Sources in the left sidebar
  3. Click the + Add Source button (top right)
  4. Under Direct Upload, select CSV File
  5. Enter a descriptive name (e.g., "Stripe - Payments Jan-Mar 2025")
  6. Click the upload area or drag and drop your CSV file
  7. Click Create Data Source

Once imported, you can ask clariBI questions like:
- "What is my monthly recurring revenue trend over the past year?"
- "Show me the refund rate as a percentage of total transactions"
- "Which country do most of my paying customers come from?"
