Lightspeed is a cloud-based POS and commerce platform used by retailers and restaurants to manage sales, inventory, and customers. Exporting your Lightspeed data into clariBI enables AI-driven analysis of sales performance, product trends, and customer purchasing patterns.
Note: Lightspeed has multiple product series — X-Series, R-Series, and L-Series (Restaurant) — each with a different interface. The steps below are based on the X-Series (formerly Vend) interface. For R-Series, navigate to Tools > Exports to access data export options.
What You Can Export from Lightspeed
- Sales transaction data with line items and totals
- Product and inventory listings with quantities and costs
- Customer profiles with purchase history
- Employee sales performance data
- Category and brand breakdowns
- Discount and promotion usage records
- Tax collection summaries
- Supplier and purchase order data

Tips for Clean Exports
- Use the Sales by Product report for the most actionable data — it shows exactly which items are selling, in what quantities, and at what revenue
- Export inventory data regularly (weekly or monthly) and import each snapshot to track stock level changes over time in clariBI
- If you operate multiple locations, export data per location or use the location filter to create comparative analyses
- X-Series limit: Sales exports are capped at 1,000 sales per export. Use date range filters to break larger datasets into multiple exports
