2 min read Updated February 11, 2026
Export contact data, conversation metrics, and user analytics from Intercom as CSV files and import them into clariBI for AI-powered support analysis.

Intercom centralizes customer communication across chat, email, and product messaging. Exporting your Intercom data as CSV and importing it into clariBI gives you powerful AI analysis of customer engagement patterns, support efficiency, and user behavior.

What You Can Export from Intercom

  • Contact data (users and leads with custom attributes)
  • Company data and associated user counts
  • Conversation metrics (response times, resolution times, ratings)
  • Message performance data (open rates, click rates)
  • Team and teammate performance statistics
  • Tag and segment membership data
  • Custom attribute values for users and companies
  • Conversation volume and channel distribution

Export CSV Data from Intercom

Method 1: Export Contacts

  1. Log in to your Intercom workspace
  2. Click Contacts in the left sidebar
  3. Apply any filters or segments to narrow your contact list
  4. Select the contacts you want to export, then click the More dropdown
  5. Select Export users — the export will produce a CSV file
  6. Choose which fields to include in the export
  7. Click Export and Intercom will send a download link to your email

Method 2: Export Conversation Data

  1. Go to Settings (gear icon) in the left sidebar
  2. Navigate to Data > Imports & exports > Export data
  3. Select Conversations as the data type to export
  4. Set your desired date range
  5. Click Export — Intercom will prepare the file for export. Note that bulk conversation export requires configuring a cloud storage destination (AWS S3 or Google Cloud Storage) rather than email delivery
  6. Note: Bulk conversation export is not available from the Inbox view directly; you must use Settings or the Intercom API

Method 3: Export from Reports

  1. Click Reports in the left sidebar, then navigate to Reports > Dataset export for bulk data downloads
  2. Select a report type (e.g., Conversations, Effectiveness, Team Performance)
  3. Set your desired date range and filters
  4. Click the Export button at the top-right of the report
  5. Choose CSV and download the generated file

Tips for Clean Exports

  • Use Intercom segments to pre-filter data before exporting so you get exactly the dataset you need
  • Export contacts and conversation data separately for cleaner analysis in clariBI
  • Check that custom attributes are populated before exporting to avoid empty columns
