How to Export CSV Data from Harvest and Import It into clariBI

Harvest is a time tracking and invoicing platform trusted by agencies, consultancies, and professional service teams. Exporting your Harvest data as CSV and importing it into clariBI allows you to leverage AI to analyze project profitability, team capacity, expense trends, and billing efficiency.

Export CSV Data from Harvest

Method 1: Export Time Reports

  1. Log in to your Harvest account
  2. Click Reports in the top navigation
  3. Select a report type: Time (for hours tracked), Uninvoiced, or Project Budget
  4. Set the date range and apply filters (client, project, team member, task)
  5. Choose the grouping and detail level for your report
  6. Click the Export button at the top-right of the report
  7. Select Export CSV
  8. The file will download with time entry details

Method 2: Export Detailed Time Entries

  1. Navigate to Timesheets from the main navigation
  2. If you are an admin, select All Team to see all entries
  3. Set the date range for the period you want to export
  4. Click the Export option
  5. Choose CSV format

Method 3: Export Expense Reports

  1. Go to Reports and select Expenses
  2. Set the date range and filter by client, project, team member, or expense category
  3. Click the Export button
  4. Select Export CSV
  5. Download the expense data file

Tips for Clean Exports

  • Export time and expense data separately for cleaner analysis in clariBI
  • Include billable rate information in your time exports to enable profitability analysis
  • Use client and project filters to create focused exports for individual client reviews

Import Your Data into clariBI

  1. Log in to your clariBI account at claribi.com
  2. Click Data Sources in the left sidebar
  3. Click the + Add Source button (top right)
  4. Under Direct Upload, select CSV File
  5. Enter a descriptive name (e.g., "Harvest - Time Report Q1 2025")
  6. Click the upload area or drag and drop your CSV file
  7. Click Create Data Source

Once imported, you can ask clariBI questions like:
- "What is the profitability of each project based on billable hours and rates vs. budget?"
- "Show me team utilization rates and identify who has capacity for additional work."
- "What are our largest expense categories by project and how do expenses compare to revenue?"
