How to Export CSV Data from Google Forms and Import It into clariBI

Google Forms is a free, widely used tool for creating surveys, quizzes, and data collection forms. Exporting your Google Forms responses into clariBI allows you to perform deep analysis on response data, identify trends, and generate AI-driven insights.

Export CSV Data from Google Forms

Method 1: Direct CSV Download

  1. Open your Google Form at forms.google.com
  2. Click the Responses tab at the top of the form editor
  3. Click the three-dot menu (More options) in the top-right of the Responses section
  4. Select Download responses (.csv) from the dropdown
  5. The CSV file will download immediately with all response data

Method 2: Via Google Sheets

  1. Open your Google Form and go to the Responses tab
  2. Click the green Sheets icon (Link to Sheets) to create or open a linked spreadsheet
  3. Google Sheets will open with all your response data
  4. In Google Sheets, go to File > Download > Comma Separated Values (.csv)
  5. The CSV file will download to your computer

Tips for Clean Exports

  • The direct CSV download method is quickest, but the Google Sheets method lets you clean or reorganize data before exporting
  • If your form collects email addresses, those will appear in the CSV — review for privacy considerations before importing
  • Google Forms timestamps use your account timezone — keep this in mind when analyzing time-based patterns in clariBI

Import Your Data into clariBI

  1. Log in to your clariBI account at claribi.com
  2. Click Data Sources in the left sidebar
  3. Click the + Add Source button (top right)
  4. Under Direct Upload, select CSV File
  5. Enter a descriptive name (e.g., "Google Forms - Employee Feedback Survey")
  6. Click the upload area or drag and drop your CSV file
  7. Click Create Data Source

Once imported, you can ask clariBI questions like:
- "What are the most common responses for each question in my survey?"
- "Show me a breakdown of satisfaction ratings by week"
- "Are there any correlations between responses to question 3 and question 7?"
