Export CSV Data from Close CRM
Method 1: Export from Smart Views
- Log in to your Close account at app.close.com
- Click Leads in the left sidebar to open your lead list
- Select or create a Smart View from the view dropdown at the top — Smart Views let you filter leads by status, custom fields, activity, and more
- Once your Smart View is showing the leads you want, click the Export button (download icon) at the top-right of the lead list
- In the export dialog, select which fields to include
- Choose CSV as the export format
- Click Export
- The file will be prepared and available for download (check the notification or your email for the download link)
Method 2: Export Opportunities via Smart Views
Opportunities in Close CRM are nested within leads. To export opportunity data:
- Click Leads in the left sidebar
- Create or select a Smart View that filters by opportunity fields (e.g., opportunity status, value, or pipeline)
- Click the Export button (download icon) at the top-right of the results
- In the export dialog, make sure to include opportunity-related fields (Opportunity Status, Value, Expected Close Date, Confidence)
- Choose CSV and click Export
- The CSV will include lead data with associated opportunity fields in each row
Method 3: Export Activity and Reporting Data
- Click Reporting in the left sidebar
- Select the report type you want (e.g., "Activity Overview", "Sales Funnel", "Revenue")
- Set your date range and filter by team member or lead status
- Look for the Export option near the top of the report — note that not all report types support direct CSV export
- For reports without a direct export option, use the Close API or a third-party integration tool like Zapier to extract the data
Tips for Clean Exports
- Smart Views are the most flexible way to create targeted exports from Close. Set up a Smart View with exactly the fields and filters you need before exporting
- Close CRM tracks extensive activity data (call duration, email opens, etc.) — include these fields in your export for the most useful analysis in clariBI
- For pipeline analysis, make sure to include "Opportunity Status", "Value", "Expected Close Date", and "Confidence" fields
