Export project tasks and search results from Asana as CSV files and import them into clariBI for AI-powered project management analysis.

Asana is a popular project management tool that lets you export project and task data as CSV files. Importing this data into clariBI enables AI-driven analysis of project timelines, task completion rates, and team productivity.

What You Can Export from Asana

  • Task lists with names, assignees, due dates, and completion status
  • Custom field values attached to tasks
  • Project sections and task organization
  • Subtask data within parent tasks
  • Tags and priority levels
  • Task creation and completion dates
  • Task descriptions and comments (limited in CSV)
  • Advanced Search results across multiple projects

Export CSV Data from Asana

  3. Click the dropdown arrow (or Project Actions menu) next to the project name at the top
  4. Select Export/Print from the dropdown menu
  5. Choose CSV as the export format
  6. The CSV file will download to your computer containing all tasks in the project
  7. The export includes task name, assignee, due date, section, completion status, and any custom fields

Method 2: Export from Advanced Search

  1. Click the Search bar at the top of Asana
  2. Click Advanced Search (or press Tab after clicking search)
  3. Set your search criteria: project, assignee, due date range, completion status, tags, etc.
  4. Review the search results to confirm they match what you need
  5. Click the Actions menu (three-dot icon) or the Export button in the search results
  6. Select Export to Microsoft Excel
  7. Download the CSV file containing all tasks matching your search

Method 3: Export from List View

  1. Open the project and switch to List view if not already in it
  2. Apply any sort or filter options to narrow the tasks displayed
  3. Click the dropdown arrow (or Project Actions menu) next to the project name
  4. Select Export/Print > CSV
  5. The export will respect your current filters and include only the visible tasks

Tips for Clean Exports

  • Use custom fields for priority, effort, and category before exporting so the CSV includes these structured data points for analysis
  • Export completed tasks separately from active tasks to analyze completion patterns and velocity
  • For cross-project analysis, use Advanced Search to gather tasks from multiple projects into a single export
