Connect CryptoCompare to clariBI with your API key to sync daily crypto price history (OHLCV) for the coin symbols you type, read-only, with auto-generated dashboards next to your business data.

What is CryptoCompare?

CryptoCompare is a cryptocurrency market-data provider (now part of CoinDesk Data) offering free and paid REST APIs for crypto prices, OHLCV history, volume, and exchange data across thousands of coins.

clariBI reads CryptoCompare through its REST API using your own API key: daily open, high, low, close, and volume for the coin symbols you choose, quoted in the currency you pick. Access is read-only, and clariBI never places a trade or changes anything in your account.

How to connect CryptoCompare

  1. Open Data Sources in clariBI. In clariBI, go to Data SourcesAdd Data Source, find CryptoCompare, and paste your CryptoCompare API key (free from cryptocompare.com). The key is Fernet-encrypted at rest.
  2. Type the coins and history. Type the coin symbols to track (for example BTC, ETH, SOL), pick the quote currency, and choose how many days of history to pull. clariBI reads prices read-only.
  3. Sync, then get dashboards. clariBI syncs the daily prices, preprocesses them, and builds an insights dashboard. Ask "How did our crypto holdings move this quarter?" and the AI engine queries the synced prices alongside your revenue.

What you can analyze

  • Daily open, high, low, close, and volume per coin
  • Price trend and volatility over your chosen window
  • Candlestick view with a close-price trend line
  • Relative performance across the coins you track
  • Volume shifts around market or product events
  • Cross-source: crypto price moves → treasury value → revenue

What gets synced

clariBI pulls daily price history for the coins you type through the CryptoCompare REST API, lands it as a preprocessed dataset, and refreshes it on your schedule. Access is read-only.

For each coin symbol, clariBI syncs daily open, high, low, close, and volume in your chosen quote currency, then builds an insights dashboard you can query, extend, or pull into reports.

clariBI only ever reads. It never places a trade or changes anything in your CryptoCompare account.

Questions across your other data

Once your records are synced, the AI engine can join them to the rest of your business data. A few examples:

PairingQuestionHow clariBI answers
CryptoCompare × Treasury"How did our crypto treasury value track the market this quarter?"Planner: read daily closes from CryptoCompare, multiply by your held balances, and report the treasury value over the same window.
CryptoCompare × Revenue"Do our crypto-paid sales rise and fall with the coin price?"Planner: read daily closes from CryptoCompare, align to your daily revenue, and report the correlation over the same window.
