Canva powers a lot of marketing, social, and presentation work for many teams. Connecting Canva to clariBI brings design metadata, folder structure, and creation history into your AI analyses, so creative-ops reporting on output volume, team utilization, and template reuse becomes a conversation rather than a manual audit.
Why connect Canva
Asking "how many designs did our team make this quarter?" or "which designs were never opened after first publish?" usually requires manual counting through Canva folders. Canva's own reports cover broad volumes but rarely answer specific questions.
With Canva connected, you can ask "Top 10 most-used templates this quarter?", "Find designs in the social-media folder older than 90 days", or "How many designs did the brand team create last month?" and the AI engine pulls the answer.
How the connection works
clariBI talks to Canva through its hosted MCP server at https://mcp.canva.com/mcp. Authentication uses an OAuth flow that clariBI registers itself for (no developer console setup on your side). Tokens stay encrypted server-side and never leave clariBI in clear form.

Available tools
clariBI exposes the read-only Canva tools that the vendor's MCP server publishes at connection time. Write operations (create, update, delete, send, refund) are filtered out by a name-pattern blocklist before any tool reaches the analysis engine, so connecting Canva cannot modify data on the vendor side.
The exact tool inventory depends on the Canva features your account has access to. After connecting, try a few natural-language questions to see what Canva data clariBI can pull.
Data flow during analysis
When you ask a question that maps to Canva, the AI engine routes to the right tool, reads the result, and pairs the answer with a chart you can pin to a dashboard.

Troubleshooting
| Error | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| "No designs visible" | Your Canva account is on a Free plan that restricts API access, or you authorized a personal account instead of a team account. | Verify the plan and account in Canva, then reconnect with the right account. |
| "Team selection missing" | You belong to multiple Canva teams. | Switch to the right team in Canva before re-authorizing. |
