Connect CSV, Excel and JSON files to clariBI
Drop in a spreadsheet or data file and clariBI detects the columns, types them and builds a dashboard for it. Anything you can export from another tool can come in this way.

About CSV, Excel and JSON files
A file upload is the simplest way to bring in data from a tool clariBI does not connect to: export a report as CSV or Excel and upload it.
clariBI reads the header row, detects dates, numbers and text, and stores the file as a dataset you can chart, query and use in reports.
What clariBI does with a file
Each upload becomes a data source with its own dashboard. Uploading a newer export gives you fresher numbers; files do not refresh on their own.

How to connect CSV, Excel and JSON files
Export the data
Export a report or table from the tool you use, as CSV or Excel. Keep one table per file with the column names in the first row.
Upload it
In clariBI, open Data Sources > Add Data Source > File upload and drop the file.
Use the dashboard
clariBI detects the columns and builds a dashboard. On the trial and on Starter and above you can ask questions about it in plain English.
Questions you can ask
Asking in plain English uses AI credits, so it needs the trial or a Starter, Professional or Enterprise plan. Totals and trends are computed from the synced rows; the AI plans the question, picks the chart and writes the explanation.

Which file types work?
CSV, TSV, Excel (.xlsx and .xls), JSON, XML, Parquet and plain text for data. PDFs, images, audio and video go through OCR or transcription.
Do uploaded files update?
No. A file is a snapshot. Upload a new export, or connect the tool directly if clariBI has a connector for it.
Which plans include file uploads?
Every plan, including Free. Each plan has an upload allowance: 5 on Free, 10 on Lite, 50 on Starter, 500 on Professional and 5,000 on Enterprise. Asking questions in plain English and AI reports need the trial or a Starter, Professional or Enterprise plan.
