AdButler + clariBI

Connect AdButler through clariBI's MCP catalog. Read-only API key, and ad delivery stats sitting next to the revenue each advertiser, zone, and campaign earns.

Native AdButler connector via the MCP catalog.

Paste a read-only AdButler API key, keep the access read-only, and ask questions across AdButler and your other tools in plain English. The connector reads delivery stats; it never books or edits a campaign.

What is AdButler?

AdButler is an independent ad server. Publishers and retail media networks use it to traffic display, video, native, email, mobile, and CTV ads, target the right zones, and report on how each campaign delivered.

clariBI reaches your AdButler account through its hosted MCP server using an API key you generate under Settings → API: campaigns, advertisers, zones, and delivery stats such as impressions, clicks, and conversions. The key scopes what clariBI can read, and clariBI never changes anything in AdButler.

Connect AdButler in three steps

1

Open Data Sources in clariBI

In clariBI, go to Data SourcesAdd Data SourceMCP Servers tab. Find AdButler in the catalog and click Connect.

2

Generate an AdButler API key

In AdButler, open Settings → API and create a key. Admins and users with API permission can do this. Optionally add an IP allow list. This is a pasted key, not an OAuth popup.

3

Paste the key, then ask questions

Paste the key into clariBI and click Connect. clariBI surfaces delivery by advertiser, zone, and campaign. Ask "Which zones had the highest click-through rate last month?" and the AI engine reads AdButler alongside your revenue data.

What you can analyze

Out of the box with the AdButler MCP connector:

  • Impressions, clicks, and click-through rate by zone
  • Delivery and conversions per advertiser or campaign
  • Campaigns under-delivering against booked volume
  • Fill rate and unsold inventory by zone over time
  • Top advertisers by delivered impressions in a period
  • Cross-source: delivered impressions → booked revenue per advertiser

AdButler is one of 90+ vendors in the clariBI MCP catalog. See the full list →

What the AI engine can call

clariBI discovers AdButler's tool surface at connection time and exposes the read-only tools to the planner. Write or configuration tools are filtered out by the catalog's read-only heuristic, so the connector stays analytical.

When you connect, clariBI lists the tools your AdButler MCP server advertises and keeps the read-only ones: reading campaigns, advertisers, zones, and delivery statistics.

Anything that would change AdButler is excluded at the catalog layer and never reachable through clariBI.

Cross-source questions AdButler makes possible

AdButler data is most useful next to your other tools. clariBI's planner composes it with your CRM, billing, and product data through the same entity-join primitives that back every cross-source analysis.

AdButler × billing

"Which advertisers earned the most revenue per thousand impressions last quarter?"

Planner: read delivered impressions per advertiser from AdButler, join to booked revenue from your billing source, and rank by revenue per mille.

AdButler × GA4

"Did the zones with the highest fill also send the most on-site traffic?"

Planner: read fill rate per zone from AdButler, then compare against GA4 sessions for the pages those zones sit on.

AdButler connector FAQ

Where do I get the AdButler API key?

In AdButler, open Settings → API. Admins and users with API permission can create a key there. You paste that key into clariBI; there is no OAuth popup for AdButler.

Can clariBI change my campaigns or zones?

No. The catalog exposes read tools only, and the read-only heuristic filters out anything that writes. clariBI reads campaigns, advertisers, zones, and delivery stats; it never books, edits, or pauses a campaign.

Can I restrict where the key is used?

Yes. AdButler lets you white-list IP addresses for an API key. If you set one, make sure clariBI's requests fall inside the allow list, or reads will fail.

Which clariBI plan includes the AdButler connector?
